MellowBite Privacy Policy

MellowBite is a low-pressure daily energy awareness app. We keep data on your device whenever possible and process only the data needed for AI estimation, recognition correction, and subscription functionality.
Data We Process
MellowBite stores profile inputs, meal logs, exercise logs, language preference, subscription entitlement cache, and local meal photo thumbnails on your device. This data is used to show today's state, history, and profile settings.
When you use photo or text AI estimation, MellowBite sends the selected photo or text description to Firebase Cloud Functions. The backend calls Google Gemini to generate a rough meal estimate. Requests use Firebase anonymous authentication and App Check protection.
When you correct an AI result, MellowBite may submit a recognition feedback snapshot to Firebase. This can include the original estimate and your correction. Feedback is used to review recognition quality, food database entries, and prompts. Feedback is associated with a Firebase anonymous user ID for rate limiting and troubleshooting.
Subscriptions are processed by Apple StoreKit. We do not collect payment card numbers or App Store passwords.
Permissions

What We Do Not Do
- We do not sell personal data.
- We do not use third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.
- We do not access contacts, precise location, browsing history, or search history.
- MellowBite is not a medical, nutrition therapy, diagnosis, or prescription tool.
Data Retention
Local records stay on your device. You can remove local data by deleting the app. Recognition feedback submitted to Firebase may be retained for quality review, troubleshooting, and food database improvement. To request deletion of submitted feedback, contact support with information that can help locate the record.

Children
MellowBite is not directed to children. If you believe child-related data was submitted by mistake, contact us and we will review deletion options.
